This map is for informational purposes only, developed to help community members find local businesses that offer temporary, voluntary firearm storage. Utilizing temporary storage helps put time and distance between an individual in a suicidal crisis and a firearm, but can also be helpful when going out of town or having young children visiting. It is suggested that users of this information contact the business before engaging in their services. Some questions to ask may include the process for storing, any costs associated with the service, whether a background check will be conducted, and any limits on how long firearms can be stored.
If you represent a business or law enforcement agency that is interested in being listed on this map, please email hannah.schleicher@mimh.edu.

The Safer Homes Collaborative does not provide any guidance or legal counsel to establishments. Each establishment sets its own terms and conditions for how storage is provided.
